Peppermint
- This perennial herb thrives in moist soils (but not water logged) in part sun to shade.
- Plants grow to 12” to 30” tall and spread by underground runners.
- Uses: Most commonly used for flavouring in teas. Peppermint flavoring is found in ice cream, chewing gum and even shampoos.
- Health Benefits: Aids in digestion and possibly improves memory. One animal study showed that peppermint may have radioprotective effects for cancer patients undergoing radiation.
