Dear 2025 CSA Shareholders,
I would like to welcome everyone to the start of the CSA season! We are busy working on final preparations for this week. I hope everyone is ready to get back to good, fresh, local produce!
We started the CSA process back around mid-January when we sowed our first onions in the greenhouse. We began planting in our fields in the last week of March starting with onions and following with broccoli, cabbage, and cauliflower. Since that time, our fields have been filling up with many kinds of veggies, fruits, and flowers. This spring, like all springs, has its own struggles. With all this rain it has been a challenge to work the soil and stay on schedule with planting crops. Often, we will only have one day or even just an afternoon to get planted. Fortunately, we have paid close attention to these windows. When a window of opportunity arrived, our crew was able to shift from normal work and make sure field planting was accomplished. Often, I was amazed at how much we planted in such short windows. I would like to tell you that was all my doing, but it truly was a team effort from top to bottom.
I know everyone here at Miller Plant Farm takes your satisfaction seriously. We do all we can to make sure you get the best produce. I hope everyone has a great start to the Summer!
Thank you for trusting Miller Plant Farm to grow your food and to all you Dads, Happy Father’s Day!
From Our Farm to Your Family,
Steve
